Why are news organizations pandering to the Republicans? What are they afraid of?

I do not watch the news or read their news. I'm totally aware that they are capitulating to Trump.

EVERY DAY – EVERY DAY – EVERY DAY

This is no longer about a political party.

Every day I listen to and watch the news to find out what daily disaster this administration is causing. Every day he comes out with a new executive order. Every day there is a new group bringing this administration to court.

What I am not seeing is the MAGA congress stepping up and putting a stop to this insanity. The other day I watched as a MAGA Senator praised this con man and those around him. This Senator had a big grin on his face. (My imagination went wild. I imagined him saying see all you non MAGA people we have you by the b%$$# and we are going to keep squeezing.) These actions or non-actions by these MAGA Representatives in congress are hurting everyone or soon will. They do not care about the average person. It amazes me that These words are coming from so-called good Christians.

I thought we had three branches of government each with their own powers as a check and balance system. Something has gone wrong. The Executive branch is making new laws daily . According to our constitution this is not his responsibility. This responsibility belongs to the Legislative branch. The Executive branch is eliminating or replacing government workers and departments. Again, this is the responsibility of the Legislative branch. The Executive branch is causing disasters in the legal area as well by ignoring court orders. Our Judicial branch defines the law, not the Executive branch.

This administration is gaining power on a daily basis by being allowed to do whatever they want without any consequences. He is attacking every area of our lives that we have any respect for. News outlets, Education, Religion the list goes on and on. We desperately need a leader who can bring us together. Who is going to come forward soon? I know they are out there.

Are you aware that Corey Booker has decided to spend his birthday today outside the capitol building - on the steps - having a conversation with human beings. I can see and hear and feel the rumblings of new beginnings: watch live right here. https://www.youtube.com/live/5ceR90lihX8?feature=shared

Thank you! Fantastic guidance on "explaining issues and amplifying voices" on protest coverage. Implementing your context focused road map here in Iowa.

I watched the PBS Newshour on Saturday, April 19, waiting for some reporting on the protests. Nothing. I find that Here and Now give good coverage to the current political issues, but was disappointed when they interviewed two journalists today who basically reported as though the current presidential actions are no big deal. "Trump is doing what he said he'd do on the campaign trail." As though this is all we could have expected. No one expected this onslaught (well, maybe the authors of Project 2025) and to minimize it is just infuriating.

To say that "he's doing what he said he'd do," is HORRIFYING, and news-worthy! Do these people behave as bored spectators in their own lives, too?
