I love to see any and all suggestions for supporting democracy, but I disagree with the potential for this one. What we need is truly creative and replicable actions. Not projects that have been tried and discarded, not another FTE that smaller/local news organizations cannot afford. And not projects that assume one person can be "meaningful" when dealing with 10 million subscribers or even 10,000. Rather than another person on the newsroom payroll sitting in a newsroom office, let's continue to think about how the community can be involved.
