This is so heartening. I dropped my NYT subscription after many years because their political coverage, especially coverage of Trump, has been abysmal.

But Lev, Trump “can win on character” and “has the edge where it matters most.” Didn’t you know? ;)

Exactly. Abysmal. :-)

Thank you for this. Even if the NYT wants to be neutral on the issue of democracy, however unconscionable that may be, it's failing abjectly in the whole reason journalism exists: to tell the truth. After nine years, they still call Trump's lies "falsehoods." It's the equivalent of using Putin's preferred euphemism for the the war in Ukraine: "geopolitical conflict." The NYT is now in the propaganda business, not the journalism business, and yet they're too self-righteous and myopic to realize it.

Right on, Janna.

Thank you as well. Former subscribers to NYT and WaPo, but just could no longer support their journalistic malpractice. Thank you for your actions on all of our behalf!

I'm a Canadian who has been closely following U.S. politics since Trump came down that elevator in 2016. My heart bleeds for all Americans for the crises he has created. My husband and I were longtime loyal subscribers to the New York Times, until about 6 months ago when I just couldn't take anymore of the Trump and gang whitewashing being done. I wrote a letter of protest to the NYT but of course, there was no response. I'm just one person, not an American, and didn't really expect a response. I really wish you well! Information is education, someone needs to make sure the Maga masses realize Trump is a false god. Thanks for letting me vent.

Lots of us have cancelled our subscriptions to the NYT. And protesters are outside their offices as we speak, but even with all of that, they are no longer tied to getting to the bottom of the story, and publishing facts. They have caved to following the money, not the facts.

They’re a puzzle company masquerading as a Newspaper Organization. Because their coffers are full they’re less likely to care about swings in circulation.

A.G. Sulzberger got butt hurt earlier this year when Joes people told The Times Editors he wouldn’t meet with them, which, after the way they have treated him and ignored Trumps mendacity & mental competency is certainly Joes prerogative.

So, because of this and their twisted logic in continuing Bothsidesism and fear of being labeled partisan, they have by default BECOME THE MOST PARTISAN LARGE NEWSPAPER ON THE PLANET.

AG is just a punk and he deserves a river of red ink. But alas, an in-house word game that they purchased from one of their own is saving their bacon…as rancid as it is.

The real, radical Dr King is one of my preeminent heroes, but according to Dante Aligheri, those who remain neutral are consigned to the antechamber of Hell, the outermost circle, hardly the hottest.

Is this comment from the circle of Hell where they split hairs for all eternity? ;)
