VIDEO: Information War Report - February 2025

Mainstream media pretends DOGE is an actual federal agency. The AP stands up for the free press. And what's missing from front page coverage. All that and more in this month's Information War Report.

Each month Brian and Milo bring you the Information War Report and other highlights from MAD's monthly member meetings. Be sure to watch until the end for a list of actions you can take to uplift and defend journalism and democracy. You can also watch this video on YouTube.

Summary

In this episode of the Information War Report, Brian and Milo discuss the ongoing information war affecting American democracy. They explore the implications of media literacy, the role of language in shaping narratives, and the recent assaults on the First Amendment. The conversation highlights the importance of civic engagement and the need for healthier media consumption habits, especially in light of the influence of streaming platforms and the manipulation of language by powerful entities. They finish by providing actions everyone can take to improve our information ecosystem.

Should Be Front Page But Isn’t

These pressures leads to front pages that ignore important information. The damage-by-omission that profit-seeking newsrooms perpetrate has been made glaringly obvious over the past month as legacy media outlets fail to aggressively sound the alarm to the American public that we are in the midst of a constitutional crisis.

Every month we ask our attendees to vote on which under-covered stories were most deserving of front page emphasis. This month’s nominees are (write “F” in the comments to vote for that one. This site only let’s you put 5 options in a poll!):
